Multiparty politics hindering Zambia’s economic development – Haabazoka

Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) president Lubinda Haabazoka has claimed that Zambia’s multiparty political dispensation is proving to be “toxic” to the country’s economic development.

Never one to shy away from airing controversial views on national matters, Dr Haabazoka, however, stopped short of suggesting that Zambia returns to the one-party system that the country discarded 28 years ago.

The EAZ president also did not propose a system that he feels is best suited to Zambia.

In a Facebook posting, Dr Haabazoka said: “In its current form, Zambia’s multiparty politics is toxic to Zambia’s National Economic development.

“We need to reform such that we unite after elections…”

  1. When the Economic Association holds its next AGM at which the leadership will be up for renewal, the first item on the agenda should be to fire Lubinda Habazoka. He’s toxic to the EAZ.
