He had just returned from Ethiopia where he took over the rotating chairmanship of the African Union.

Africa’s oldest leader, who turns 91 later this month, had concluded his homecoming speech when he tumbled to his knees on a short flight of stairs in an incident witnessed by journalists and hundreds of supporters.

He was quickly helped up by aides and walked to a waiting car.

Mugabe took over the post of African Union chair on Friday, replacing Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.

The former liberation war hero is Africa’s third-longest serving leader.mugabe1

    • Surely? Envious of a man who can’t sleep in peace? We need constructiveness in what we say or support.

The essence of the article is that the man is too old for the job and Zimbabwe has more than 13 million people some of whom could probably do better.

  10. It served him right Ba komana hei. He put a young leader in Zambia because of his machinations but he doesn’t want a young leader in Zimbabwe because of his greed. Good for him.

  11. Mugabe will never be at peace. The cry of the zambian people for the stolen vote which he himself ( mugabe ) manipulated for changwa will continue haunting him. God please punish all those that got involved in manipulating and stealing our votes.
