Mugabe back in the limelight! Supporting a new opposition party

Former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe is back in the political limelight. He is backing a newly formed opposition party called National Patriotic Front (NPC).

Mugabe who is over 90 years old says the current government of Emmerson Mnangagwa is illegitimate and that he was forced to resign by the military who later installed Mnangagwa as Head of state/

The spokesperson of the new party has confirmed the development to ANN7 saying Mugabe who ruled Zimbabwe for 37 years has a right to participate in politics.

Mugabe has been meeting leaders of the new party from his residence in Harare and has urged them to return the country to the rule of law.

Mnangagwa’s ZANU-PF has formed government with the military picking the man who spearheaded the coup as his Deputy.
