MPs urged to reject piecemeal constitution amendments

The Foundation for Democratic Processes has advised parliamentarians to oppose the proposed piecemeal constitution amendments to be tabled in parliament as sitting resumes 16th June 2015.

FODEP Executive Director MacDonald Chipenzi told Hot FM News that MPs should demand that government adopts the constitution through a referendum.

Chipenzi adds that piecemeal amendments have failed in the past hence the need for parliamentarians to stop this motion and ensure that the wishes of the majority Zambians are respected.

Meanwhile, Chipenzi said there is no need to hold another constitution indaba as suggested by SACCORD because it is time consuming.
