Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people in Eastern province has challenged Police to ensure law and order during tomorrow’s Nc’wala traditional ceremony.

The Paramount Chief said he did not want lawlessness before and during the ceremony at the main arena.
‘’ Police should act on whoever breaks the law regardless of where he or she is coming from,’’ he said.

Mpezeni was speaking when he arrived at Laweni in Mtenguleni from Ephendukeni palace in Chipata yesterday.
And Nc’wala tradirtional ceremony organizing General Secretary, Adamson Sakala said this year’s ceremony would be unique as it will be the first time when three Heads of States will be in attendance.
Mr. Sakala said the three Heads of State were coming from countries where there are Ngoni ethnic groups.

President Edgar Lungu, his Malawian and Mozambican counterparts,Peter Wa Mtarika and Filipe Nyusi respectively are expected to attend this year’s ceremony.
‘’ This ceremony will be a special one because it will host Heads of State of countries where there are Ngoni ethnic groups,’’ Mr. Sakala said.
He also said Paramount Chief Mpezeni would want all tribes to attend this year’s ceremony in order to unite Zambians after the country’s Presidential elections.
Mr. Sakala noted that this was the reason why the Nc’wala organizing committee would not want any person to come in political attire during the ceremony tomorrow.
