More pressure, Grand Coalition launches

The Grand Coalition Campaigning for a People Driven Constitution in Zambia will tomorrow Thursday May 29, 2014, hold a public launch of the coalition’s advocacy strategies, reports Zambian Eye Political correspondent.
According to a Press Release to media houses by the Coalition’s spokesperson who is also Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) executive director McDonald Chipenzi the launch will take place Lusaka’s Hotel Intercontinental from 09:30 hours.
The launch is part of the Grand Coalition’s ongoing efforts to take the campaign to a higher level through the unveiling of a number of new strategies.
The Coalition was formed by various stakeholders to pressure government to give a road map and enact a new constitution after it renegaded on its promise to have it implemented.
The Patriotic Front (PF) government appointed a Technical Committee to Draft a New Constitution in Zambia as it promised during its campaigns for the 2011 general elections, however, the government has dithered in releasing the Draft Constitution to the public causing a public outcry for its release.
