MOPANI copper mines LLC in Mufulira in conjunction with Love-40 charity based in Dallas, Texas have handed over a 17 seater mini bus and tennis equipment to Mufulira tennis club.

Company Chief Operations Officer (COO) Chris Vermeulen accompanied by Barry Hodgkinson, Head of Business Improvement and several other Mopani officials were present to hand over the bus and equipment to the club.

Love-40’s mission is to make a positive change in the lives of children and adolescents in the program in partnership with Mufulira tennis club , which does an amazing work helping the local children develop their talents, and, in so doing, to help them understand their potential and their importance to the community and the world.

The handover is a result of a request the club made last year to Mopani Copper mines and the Love-40 charity .The bus donated by Mopani will alleviate transport issues faced by youth in the local tennis program while the stringing machine and the nets donated by Love-40 will help the club reduce the cost that goes with daily stringing of rackets used in the program.
Equipment handed over includes a 17 seater bus, industrial stringing machine, tennis nets, tennis balls, coaching baskets, hats , racket bags and several tennis clothing for both boys and girls in the program.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by Zambia Tennis Association (ZTA) president Francis Musonda, local government officials and many tennis fraternities within and around the copperbelt region. Both  Masauso Zimba, Mufulira tennis club secretary and Chris Vermeulen , Mopani COO spoke highly of the donations and encouraged the children in the program to achieve their goals.
