M’membe’s Lawyer backs Mpundu’s presidential bid

Fred M’membe”s Lawyer Simon Mulenga Mwila has described Binwell Mpundu presidential candidature as refreshing.

Mpundu who is also independent member of parliament for Nkana in Kitwe has announced he will be running on the Youth Movement called Ichabaiche. He has called on the Youth to join the Movement saying it’s now their time.

And Mwila who is M’membe’s lawyer and serves in the Central Committee of the Socialist Party has applauded the move describing it as bold and refreshing.

Mwila who is eying the Lusaka Mayor position on the Socialist Party ticket has commended Mpundu for the bold and courageous decision.

In a statement below seen by Zambian Eye, the youthful Lawyer wrote:

I wish to take a moment to commend Hon Binwell Mpundu, Independent MP for Nkana, on his courageous decision to run for President in the 2026 general elections. His announcement, under the Ichabaiche movement, is not just about personal ambition it’s a clear call for generational change and youthful leadership.

It’s refreshing to see young leaders rise and challenge the status quo. The notion that “youth are the leaders of tomorrow” is outdated. The youth are stakeholders of now and their voices, ideas, and energy must be felt and counted today.

To you my elder brother, Hon. Mpundu: this is a bold and visionary step. Don’t waste a second focusing on the negative energy from naysayers and doubters. History is never made by the timid it is shaped by those who dare to step forward when others hesitate.

Leadership requires courage, conviction, and a deep sense of duty to the people. You’ve already shown all three.

Zambia is ready for fresh ideas on the political scene. We are ready for brave, forward-thinking leaders. Ready for a new generation to take its rightful place at the table. 😁 🤝
