Minister orders arrest of driver in Great North Road accident

A drive of a Toyota Spacio that collided with a Jordan bus Thursday evening leaving two people dead and thirty injured is on the run after allegedly causing the accident. The driver who has not yet been identified ran away after the accident last evening and his whereabouts are not known.

The Minister of Muchinga Province Gerry Chanda where the accident happened has since directed the Police to make sure the driver is found and arrested. The driver is suspected to have been drunk and bottles of beer have been found in the car which is unregistered. The accident happened on Great North Road between Mpika and Nakonde.

This is among several of the many accidents that have happened on the Great North Road in the recent few months.
