Miles orders removal of chicken statue from Chainama roundabout

Lusaka Mayor Miles Sampa has ordered Hybrid Poultry Farming to remove the giant statute of a chicken at the traffic circle on Great East Road.

The chicken placed at the Chainama/PHI round-about was placed by the chicken company whose premises is in the area.

But in his letter dated 25th February 2019, to Hybrid Poultry country director, Huw Morris, Sampa says the City Council was promoting a policy to have less artifacts and advertising inside the circle of the round-about.

He says the City Council was promoting water fountains and national hero statutes in the middle of the circle.

  1. I have nothing against Mr. Sampa but I strongly feel that he has very strong instincts to be a dictator. As mayor of the city of Lusaka he has many people working under him. Surely he should delegate such routine issues to his officials. This why I sometimes argue that politicians of these days cannot differentiate policy matters and administration. It may be true also that Africans are generally un teachable.

  2. Sampa is right where on earth have you found an advert of that sort in the centre of round about. It is only in lawless Zambia ruled by cadres and bribery.

  3. Monze,
Define the parameters of advertising. If you are ignorant of a particular field, don’t expose your witlessness here.
