Mapenzi may have been sacrificed, claims Lubinda

Government has continued denying responsibility for the death of Mapenzi Chibulo, the UPND cadre who was shot in the head by police last week, with Agriculture Minister and Kabwata Aspiring Member of Parliament, Given Lubinda, claiming she was “sacrificed”.

And Lubinda has described the UPND’s call for a ‘Black Friday’ to mourn victims of political violence as “the work of the devil”.

Lubinda who featured on Radio Phoenix’s Let the people talk program also wondered why the UPND leadership allowed its members to demostrate and become unruly over police’s decision to cancel the party’s rally against the backdrop of security concerns.

“why was there a series of a movie shot from the time she arrived to the time she was shot? It’s very suspicious especially when people are discussing Black Friday. The death is regrettable but calling on forces of darkness in a Christian nation is bad. ”

“The UPND videographers on the day were focused on three cadres that included Mapenzi. It’s like someone was ready for before and after events,” he said

Lubinda has stated that it would be imperative that the on-going on police inquiry speak to many including the photographer that took particular focus on Mapenzi.

On calls for Black Friday Lubinda says it is the hand of the devil at work.

“Zambia is a Christian nation, why call for Black Friday when you can pray?” Lubinda wondered. “Please let’s pray to God and stop Black Friday Black, we don’t want forces of darkness we don’t want evil. We’re a Christian nation President Lungu has asked for prayers not the hate being preached by the opposition.”

  1. Lubinda is a disappointment to those of us that thought he was a thinker. The man has lost every little level of integrity that Sata left in him after firing him from a ministerial post. What used to be an inspiration is now nothing but a man who has no direction. Look at what he saying in this article. Insulting those that were killed by his master. Is there a place for such low calibre leadership in this country again? For how long? What corruption can do. Running away from his shadow. Continue mocking but be sure of his whip.

  3. Mr Lubinda, when someone dies, the dress code is black. Your people [police] shot dead our sister, which has never happened in zambia’ political line. So on friday we wear black for the death of our loved ones, you see satanism just coz you cant accept that you shot at us. Black is a dress code for funerals, you empty tin. Stop violence. HH will fix it.

  5. i have always respected Lubinda but now he has extremely disappointed me with his un Godly sentiments. i did not expect such rubbish to come from such a man who i thought was worth respecting, you are a disgrace to society. Sometimes it is better to keep quiet rather than uttering words which injures others and in return loose your own trust and respect. That is being wicked.

  9. Bo Lubinda, your govt has blood on its hands. Speaking like that, in short, you are telling Zambians that are fools and you can manipulate them and laugh at them that they can’t judge between right and wrong.

This manipulation will cost you votes from well informed Zambians who really know how wicked as PF your leadership is that you can mock the parents of this child even when you know that this child was shot by police.

The other point, is you can hide your real FACE from pipo but you can’t hide it from God. Pipo see you as PF in Church when you want VOTEsS from pipo.

  11. Ba Lubinda which christian nation that advocates “christians for Lungu” a god now. Christians are followers of Jesus Christ and not Lungu. You are a respected person ba Given Lubinda don’t just join in these blasphemous issues of these criminals. Do other things and leave others. Black friday came about becoz of that killing of the girl and it will remain in the minds of zambians that PF police killed that girl Mapenzi just because she wanted to attend a UPND rally that was cancelled at the 11th hour. Are you happy that Mapenzi young as she was died without any cause?

  13. Why calls for Black Friday following the brutal murder of innocent Mapenzi? It was called Black Friday because the circumstances surrounding her death are regrettable. It was called Black Friday in support of violence-free campaigns and elections this year. The dress code for the occasion was black representing mourning for the loss of life. It was called Black Friday to show solidarity against the growing trend of political violence and intolerance.

Calling it Black Friday does not in any way mean calling on forces of darkness in a Christian nation. You see in communication, it’s wrong to impose your own frame of reference on the person who says something. Lets learn to listen to the meaning of what has been said instead of taking what has been said literally according your own frame of reference. Let’s learn to be mindful of not just the message but also the meaning of the message by focusing on the frame of reference of the sender of a message. Otherwise we will get it wrong from the onset. Did you know that everyone comes with their own frame of reference- the sum of their knowledge and experiences which will influence how they will interpret what is being conveyed to them. Ignoring the frame of reference of the sender of a message is what leads to miscommunication.

Rather than say “blank Friday means calling on the forces of darkness which is evil”, perhaps Mr lubinda’s argument would have made sense if he used Robert Mugabe’s argument about why we should not wear blank clothes at funerals. Robert Mugabe’s views were as follows and I quote-

“Racism will never end as long as white cars are still using black tires.
    2. Racism will never end as long as we still wash first white clothes, then other colors later.
    3. Racism will never end if people still use black to symbolize bad luck and WHITE for peace.
    4. Racism will never end if people still wear white clothes at weddings and black clothes at funerals
    5. Racism will never end as long as those who don’t pay their bills are
    blacklisted not White listed.
    6. Even when playing the pool (snooker), you haven’t won until you sink the black ball, and the white ball must remain on the field……..”

So put aside your frame of reference Mr Lubinda and others because it is not only misleading but also causing divisions among the Zambian people. Let’s preach about things that can unite us as one Zambia and one nation.
