The Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company will only consider apologizing to the public over the manner it handled the water contamination issue in some parts of Lusaka once investigations in the matter are done, its Managing Director Jonathan Kampata has said.

His comment follows the challenge by People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) President Andyford Banda that the company should apologize to its customers as the manner in which it handled the issue endangered the lives of citizens.

Engineer Kampata admitted that the incident is regrettable but said the ongoing investigations will determine what led to the contamination of water in Ibex Hill, Nyumba Yanga and Kabulonga’s Malata area.

He told Hot FM News that investigations have almost been concluded and a comprehensive statement will soon be issued.
