Lusaka PF recommends KBF, Komaki expulsions

The Patriotic Front (PF) in Lusaka has kept itself preoccupied with Lusaka Lawyer Kelvin Fube Bwalya and Julius Komaki, who are both staunch supporters of the ruling party.

Today, the party has announced that Bwalya and Komaki have been suspended from the party indefinitely, further recommending that the central committee expels the duo.

Bwalya has declared that he will challenge President Edgar Lungu in the PF Convention and Komaki has been calling for the resignation of party SG.

Speaking at a press briefing held at party secretariat, interim Lusaka Province Chairman Paul Moonga said Bwalya and Komaki were accorded an opportunity to clear themselves but opted to be quiet.

Last week, the party’s provincial leadership through its Chairman Moonga and Secretary Kennedy Kamba wrote to both Bwalya and Komaki individually asking that they exculpate themselves on alleged insubordination and causing confusion in the party – with a letter whose reference head said expulsion.

On Thursday, May 9, Moonga issued a statement saying their have not heard from both members and that the party will make a pronouncement

But at a briefing on Monday May 13, Moonga said the decision was arrived at after the two failed to appear before the committee after they were summoned.

“The recommendations have since been submitted to the party’s Secretary General Davis Mwila for the central committee to make the final decision,” he said.
