President Edgar Lungu is expected back in the country from Uganda today and will tomorrow, Friday, hold a press briefing at State House.

Presidential Press Aide Amos Chanda announced today saying all invited Guests should be seated by 10:30 for the press conference to start at 11:00 hours.

Following dissolution of Parliament yester-night, the President will give guidance on a number of issue pertaining to the governance of the country.

This is the second press conference President Lungu will hold from last January when he was elected President in a speacial presidential election to succeed Michael Sata who died in October 2014 in London.

President Lungu who is a lawyer is expected to give direction regarding the the legality and (morality) of the Vice-President and Cabinet ministers retaining their positions after dissolution of Parliament.

Zambia goes to the polls on August 11, 2016 to elect a president, members of Parliament, Councilors, Mayors and Chairpersons of the Local Councils.

  3. Hope this clown on cloud 9 can address more serious national matters than just stupid politicking. Let him tell us why soon after the rains we have to endure longer hours of no power. Does he really understand how low productivity has become? He even has the audacity to seek re-eelection even after his spectacular one year of failure to manage a small economy like ours. Typical CNP.

  6. Ministers to keep Ministerial positions and resources while campaigning to come back.

    I am not confused but quite surprised that such a thing is happening in my life time in a democracy. Is this what Mugabe and Museveni do?

    Tax payers are just watching because there is no referee. There is no Ombudsman or Natamoyo in the system.

    Who is to blame?

    Ourselves, of course. Lawyers are quiet and waiting to be hired at exorbitant fees by those who will be arrested by the police to protest this strange happening.
