President Edgar Lungu started his day with a high-level side event organized by the African Union, according to a statement issued by the Zambian Embassy in Addis Ababa.
The breakfast meeting was hosted by the African Union Commission and the United Nations Women Affairs.
The theme of the meeting was; “Transforming traditions, norms, customs and cultures to end Child Marriage and Female Genital Mutilation and Cutting in Africa”.
President Lungu was joined by over 60 traditional leaders across Africa in the fight gender based violence and ending early child-hood marriages
