The race to state house between icumbent President Edgar Lungu and UPND candidate Hakainde Hichilema is heating up with the former now taking the lead from 69 constituencies announced so far.
Consolidated results from the 69 constituencies put Lungu at 699,960 votes while Hichilema is at 644,132 votes. This is after the Electoral Commission announced results from 15 more constituencies.
Out of the 69 constituencies, Lungu has won 45 while Hichilema has won 24. There are 87 constituencies left to be counted. 44% of the results have been announced and we are remaining with 56%.
