Lungu wants to cling on to power – Guy Scott

Former president Guy Scott has told a mega rally in Choma that Edgar Lungu must go after August 11.

Addressing tens of thousands of people in Choma this afternoon, Dr Scott charged that President Lungu will lose next month’s elections.

“Edgar thinks he can stay forever he must go,” Dr Scott told a mammoth rally.

Dr Scott who said he had never seen such a huge rally told the people that from the campaigns it was clear the PF and Lungu are losing the August election.

He claimed that President Lungu wants to cling to power even when he loses elections in 18 days time.

Dr Scott recounted that he ruled the country for 90 days and handover power according to the constitution.

He said the president of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe thanked him for facitating the transition after President Michael Sata’s death. He said Lungu did not thank him but instead chased him and all those who were close to Sata.

Earlier UDF president Miles Sampa who was a nephew to Sata told the people that the Sata family have been forsaken by the Lungu regime.

Sampa said he was campaigning for UPND because it’s candidate was the best from all those contesting.

He said he was not campaigning for a position when the UPND forms government.
