Lungu in campaign dash as ‘D-day’ looms

With one day to go before country goes to the polls, President Edgar Lungu will make a final case for his re-election with a series of rallies, starting with the Copperbelt and ending with Lusaka.

According to a campaign program released to the media by his pre aide Amos Chanda, President Lungu is today set to hold rallies in the following areas in Masaiti (15:00 hrs), Mpongwe (15: 45 hrs) and Lufwanyama (16: 30 hrs). He will then move to Kitwe where he will have a radio program that will be streamed live to other radio stations across the country and beyond the borders to those that have internet radio.

Chanda says during the radio programme, Lungu is expected to discuss some of his governments major development achievements such as the heavy multi-billion dollar investment in the energy sector, agriculture development etc.

He says the programme is also expected to be monitored by the state broadcaster, Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) television and radio and that local and foreign media are free to tune into the programme that will start at 7 am and end at 8 am.

President Lungu is expected back in Lusaka where he will close his country wide marathon tour with a Mega Rally at Woodlands stadium.
