Lungu has a heart of gold – Bwalya

Frank Bwalya says President Lungu’s heart is as pure as gold saying he is one of the few close people to the Head of State.

Bwalya, who was PF Chairperson for Information and Publicity before being appointed to Head the Zambia mission in Australia says President Lungu is a good hearted man.

“I am confident that I will succeed in my work as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Australia because I will be representing a man who I know what he represents in Zambia – industrialisation, a better life for all Zambians, concern for humanity, diversification, a mining industry that benefits all citizens etc,” Bwalya told journalists after taking oath at State House yesterday.

“So I thank His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu for this appointment. He has appointed me because he has confidence in me and he doesn’t doubt my confidence in him. I am happy that I am one of the people who has come close enough to Mr Lungu and peep into his chest to see his heart which is of pure gold as far as concern for other people is concerned.

“I thank the Patriotic Front, the mother of all this under the management of SG Davies Mwila. I cant forget to thank all those that wish me well including my mother and father (gone to the Lord). One Zambia One Nation. Love conquers all. God is love. Amen.”

After leaving priesthood, Bwalya formed a political pressure group which latter supported the PF in 2011 elections. He was rewarded to head the Board of directors at ZESCO by President Michael Sata in 2011.

Within a few months, he quit his position saying he wanted to be free and speak his mind on the ills of the PF government before forming his own political party, ABZ.

However, the ABZ was shortlived. After President Sata’s death, Bwalya dissolved his party to join PF and supported Edgar Lungu. He was appointed to head the media team at the Secretariat.

Of late he had taken a low profile in the political scene and only to emerge when he was being sworn in as High Commissioner.

  2. What else (other than delusions of hearts and gold) can Father Frank Bwalya see in someone who has lifted him from being near-homeless to High Commissioner to Australia? It is sad that all these appointments of cadres are an unnecessary cost to the taxpayer. Are we short of career civil servants and diplomats for these positions to staff then with cadres? No wonder these missions exist only in name, with little benefit to Zambia. It is a real shame!!! All the same, wish you luck Father Bwalya. Use the opportunity to reflect on your path and to build yourself.

  3. Ba Bwalya you dont praise a PUBLIC servant because he has done you a favour. That is equivalent to bribery. Just quietly receive the posting to Australia and serve the nation. Dont serve Lungu.
