Lungu calls for Scott’s probe, fires Attanga and Kasolo

Patriotic Front (PF) president elect Edgar Lungu has announced that he will probe Interim Republican President Guy Scott on how he has been conducting himself.

Speaking Monday morning when he was presented before the press in Lusaka at Mulungushi International Conference, Lungu said it was clear that Dr. Scott does not mean well.
He said as he said during the burial of President Sata, PF was not for sell.

“Dr. Scott, PF is not for sell,” Lungu stated amid appraisals from his supporters.

We are wondering what has become of this man,” Lungu said. “It has become very clear that Dr. Scott is working against the party, and against the legacy of our leader President Sata.

Lungu said he will not allow anyone who come on his way to destabilize PF.

“Just to set the tone, I have with immediate effect relived Bright Attanga. I am reliving her of the appointment today. I have also removed one Attorney Kasolo. I have suspended PF Chairperson for Elections for gross misconduct,” Lungu announced.

Attanga was Deputy Secretary General and she was elevated to take over from Lungu as Secretary General by Dr. Scott. Kasolo was appointed to deputise Attanga.
Lungu has appointed Davis Chama as the new Secretary General. He said other changes in the party will be made later.

Lungu also announced that he has obtained an injunction from the High court to restraining Dr. Scott and Attanga from going ahead with their general conference.
“We have flown someone to Kabwe to serve them,” Lungu said.

Lungu charged that he has had enough of Guy Scott saying he will nolonger take it anymore. He said his focus now is to campaign and win the presidency.

“ My job is to campaign and win back the power, lawyers your job is to make sure this nonsense by Scott is stopped,” Lungu charged. “I am saying this because some people have perceived me as a weak person. I have surrendered a lot to Guy Scott.”

He however offered an olive branch to the Scott camp.

“Despite suspension, there is still room to talk to each other. If they come and apologise I will receive them. There is enough room for you in the PF as long as you follow the rules and do not stand on my way,” he said.
