Lungu blocked, Police fire teargas at Ibex Police Station

Former President Edgar Lungu being denied entry at Ibex Police Station

Former president Edgar Lungu this afternoon was blocked from entering Ibex Hill Police station where the case of the missing member of Parliament Emmanuel Banda was reported.

Opposition members of Parliament led by Leader of the opposition in Parliament Brian Mudubile have camped at the Police station waiting to be told about Banda’s whereabouts.

Banda mysteriously went missing early hours of Saturday and his vehicle was found abandoned in Ibex Hill area.

The opposition suspect he has been abducted by unknown Thugs. He left home midnight and is said to have been heading to his constituency eastern Zambia.

When former president Lungu tried to enter the police station to inquire about the MP. He was blocked.

The Police fired teargas at the crowd that was growing following Lungu’s presence at the Police station. He has since left the station.

The Police are under strict instructions not to allow Lungu at the police station, a spokesperson for the opposition alliance, UKA says.

The Police have confirmed recording the report of the missing member of Parliament and no further information so far.

Government by press time had not said anything. The incidence has caused fear among the opposition who accuse the Hakainde Hichilema regime of trying to silence any opposition views.
