Linda Kasonde

Copperbelt province Minister Bowman Lusambo has described Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) president Linda Kasonde as a politician who is hiding in the association position to do politics.

Lusambo in reacting to Kasonde who urged President Lungu to retract his threats against Judges presiding on his third term bid case says the LAZ Boss should join politics.

Below is Lusambo’s statement in full:

I have followed the actions and behavior of Ms. Linda Kasonde, the President of the Law Association of Zambia since she assumed her post.

It is clear for all to see that Ms. Kasonde takes a political stance especially when it is convenient for her. It is easy to see through her actions because Ms. Kasonde is probably the most politically aligned LAZ President in the association’s rich history.

What is more disturbing is that Ms. Kasonde wants to use her position to play politics. Her public statements are political in nature and taste. My final conclusion is that Ms. Kasonde is a politician hiding behind the umbrella of a respected professional body.

My advice to Ms. Kasonde is that she choose leave her current post and join us in the political battle field. It is without dispute that she is a politician but what she needs to do is tell the whole world which side of the political divide she belongs.

Her failure to publicly state her political allegiances which dent the image of the organisation she currently leads.

My other appeal is for Ms. Kasonde to stop dragging His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the great leader of this great nation into her useless politics. President Lungu has no time to do politics with her like as he is busy with the agenda of developing the nation.

If Ms. Kasonde continues dragging President Lungu into her tasteless politics, she runs the risk of bringing the name of the President into disrepute, a situation we cannot tolerate.

  3. Bowman you don’t seem to understand or know anything regards what these lawyers are saying. When someone corrects you,it doesn’t mean he or she is challenging you. Man shall not live by bread alone. Naifwe aba shile lyako tulekalako tondolo. Problem yakulanda ne fye kuliaya mukanwa, fiunfwika kwati, what you are saying is not making sense.

  5. Lusambo commenting on any subject exposes your ignorance and illiteracy levels. The fact that you are a Member of Parliament does not permit you to commit or any matter in the public domain. Politics in Zambia mostly favours thugs who survive on politics of appeasement. I salute dear intellectuals among some MPs both in ruling party and opposition party who do not just issue baseless comments anyhow. Lusambo is suffering from a disease called inferiority complex and for a long time now Lusambo has been living and surviving on supporting the wrongs things committed by those in the ruling government. Even a fool sometimes if he keeps quiet may be considered wise.
