The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection has urged all Ministers and their Deputies to immediately vacate office and pay back all the money they have accumulated since the dissolution of Parliament on 12th May 2016.

JCTR Director Leonard Chiti told Hot FM News that just as the Constitutional Court ruling, the Ministers stay in office was illegal and immoral.

Father Chiti says it is sad for the Ministers to have pretended to be in Cabinet when they knew that it was wrong.

Meanwhile, UPND Lusaka Central Parliamentary Candidate Charlotte Scott has charged that the use of government resources by cabinet ministers amounts to rigging this week’s general poll.

In an interview with Hot FM, Dr. Scott notes that the political playing field has been unfair due intimidation and violence by her political opponents.

She also bemoaned the delay by the Electoral Commission of Zambia to avail stakeholders with the final voters’ register.

In a landmark ruling, the Constitutional Court yesterday ruled that Ministers and their Deputies are in office illegally following the dissolution of Parliament and have been ordered to pay back all the salaries and other allowances they illegally accrued.
