Notable business speakers from across a broad spectrum of industries will challenge hundreds of entrepreneurs on the need to innovate, shift paradigms and drive change, especially in a challenging economic environment at the 2nd annual Nyamuka Zambia Business Conference slated for July 20, at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

Zoona co-founder Brad Magrath will be keynote speaker at the event, with angel investor Irene Banda Mutulima, Java Foods CEO Monica Musonda and Western Power chairman Sipho Phiri among those who will also be sharing the experience and knowledge of setting up and running businesses.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Achieving Entrepreneurial Success and Growth during Challenging Times.”

Nyamuka Zambia Manager, Shalin Jethi said: “Despite the focus on the challenges of Zambia, we are proud of the progress that has made over the years and we ought to see Zambia not as a land plagued with challenges but one filled with opportunities and remarkable entrepreneurial success stories.”

“The conference aims to celebrate and promote awareness of existing innovative solutions that have been deployed in Zambia, in addition to motivating attendees to create more innovative solutions to overcome the challenges in Zambia. I encourage as many people to attend this life altering event” he added.

As in the previous year, the conference will bring together hundreds of entrepreneurs who are passionate about business opportunities in the nation. The conference will feature highly inspirational content sessions and professional networking opportunities with current and future business leaders.

The conference is a key part of the Nyamuka Zambia Business Plan Competition, which seeks to unleash entrepreneurial talent across Zambia and to promote diversity, especially by encouraging more women and young people to enter the entrepreneurial space in Zambia.

The competition was launched in March, receiving and overwhelming response with more than 600 people applying, from which 60 semi-finalists were selected last month to go forward to the next stage of the competition.

The Nyamuka Zambia conference, which is being sponsored by Barclays Bank and the business plan competition is part of the Private Enterprise Programme – Zambia (PEPZ), a five year initiative funded by the UKaid that strives to enhance productivity and competitiveness in Zambia’s private sector by strengthening the capacity of micro, small and medium enterprises to deliver inclusive economic growth.

Conference tickets cost K200 in advance and can be bought at Computicket desks in Shoprite stores. A limited number of tickets will also be available on the day from the venue at the cost of K250. The ticket price includes refreshments and lunch.
