Kunda asks govt to explain how much it has saved from subsidy removal

MMD Muchinga Member of Parliament (MP) Howard Kunda has challenged government to explain how much money it has saved from the removal of subsidies.

Kunda who is also MMD Youth Chairperson said government needs to also explain how the money saved from the subsidy has been used.

He maintained that the removal of subsidies was not in good faith as seen from the continued rise of price of goods and services.

He said prices of essential goods have remained high and is subjecting people to untold misery.

The Muchinga parliamentarian who is son to late republican vice president, George Kunda, has advised the PF led government to humble themselves and seek advice from the MMD on how to govern the country.

The opposition MP said since the PF were elected to run government things have not improved. He said the agriculture policy is in shambles and has resulted into poor yields for this year.

Kunda said the government has also failed to increase the floor price of maize which they had condemned while in the opposition. He however commended the government for taking up the road projects which is helping to open up Zambia.

On the leadership problem in the former ruling party, he argued that there is no crisis as President Nevers Mumba is the right candidate.

Kunda is also hopeful that the MMD will bounce back to power in 2016.
