Kitwe’s Mindolo Ward Councilor suspended

The Kitwe City Council has with immediate effect suspended Mindolo Ward Councillor Faustino Mwape for Six Months in his Scam of selling plots illegally, reports Zambian Eye Kitwe Correspondent.

Speaking after the Full Council Meeting which was held in Closed doors, Kitwe Mayor Kelvin Sinyangwe said Councillor Mwape has been suspended for allegedily promising people that they will given plots in Mindolo North and the Council would legalise the area.

“As Kitwe City Council we have today suspended Mindolo ward councillor in Nkana Constituency pending investigations, it is allegedy that Councillor Mwape promised some people that they where going to be given plots which were to be ligalised at a later stage” the city Mayor announced.

He said for investigations to be carried out smoothly it was important that the civic leader steped aside.

Mr Sinyangwe has further warned Councillor and other Council Management to desist in engaging themselves in such vices as doing so will be at their risk.

Councillor Faustino Mwape was early this month Suspended from the partriotic front Party by PF Copperbelt Provincial Chairperson Stardy. Mwale on allegations that he was puting the name of the ruling party in disripute.

Councillor Mwape who has since chosen silent has been cited as the main causer as to the Reason over 400 Houses where demolished in Kitwe’s Mindolo North.

The Suspension means that the affected will not perform his duties but will have to wait until he is cleared by the investigations team.
