Katuba gets presidential attention

The residents of Katuba Constituency in Central Province have been very lucky in the recent weeks, with the Government of the Republic of Zambia giving the area some extra attention.

Recently, there were reports of all feeder roads getting graded and just over the weekend, Republican President Edgar Lungu responded with supersonic speed to a request made by Chieftainess Mungule of the Lenje people for an Ambulance.

In a prompt manner, President Lungu instructed the Minister of Health, Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, to ensure that the Clinic in Mungule is upgraded to a Mini Hospital.

President Lungu also asked Dr. Chilufya to represent him in presenting the Ambulance to Chieftainess Mungule.

The area which is 16 kilometers from Lusaka’s central business district is lucky to have so much attention recently even that of the Citizen Number One – the residents must be very lucky.

Lastly, one small detail to be mentioned is that the area will be going to a bye election very soon after the demise of the area MP, Patricia Mwanashingwele. The ‘developmental’ project have suddenly sprung up after the death of the area MP.

Like the common saying goes: If you know, you know.

  2. This Chitalu chilufya even attended church service before handing over the ambulance to chieftainess mungule. This clearly a campaign gimmick to hoodwink the people of Katuba and pure electoral abuse, Why hand over some ambulance just to appease the locals. Any way, kaba libonesha ta, the people of Katuba know what to do.The late MP Patricial Mwashingwele, (MHSRIP) was lobying for all that they have started doing now. UPND must work extra hard to retain this seat just like they did with the sesheke seat. Katuba is just the backyard of Lusaka and so the PF will send busloads of thugs from intercity to destabilise and scare the electorates. I forsee violence as PF caanot once again lose an election as it will send a wrong signal for 2021 so they will try by hook and crook to grab the seat.Remember how they shamelessly petitioned the sesheke election result when they knew deep down that they had lost that election.
