Katongo drops out for the best Africa Footballer Award

National Team skipper Christopher Katongo has failed to make it to the last five nominees of Confederation of African Footballer of the year awards.

According to the nominees announced by CAF, the Zambian captain is not among the last five nominees short listed.

Those who have been short listed Include Ghanaian Dede Ayew, Senegalese Demba Ba, Ivorians Didier Drogba, and Yaya Toure and Alexander Song of Cameroon.

Katongo was among the 34 short listed by CAF for Africa’s soccer prestigious award.

Meanwhile Zambian based TP Mazembe players Rainford Kalaba and Stophira Sunzu have made it to the last three of the CAF Player of the year award.

The award is given to an African player based on the continent.

The winners will be named at the Awards Gala to be held on December 20 at the Banquet Hall, at State House in Accra, Ghana.
