Kambwili’s wife speaks

Patriotic Front Member of Central Committee Chishimba Kambwili is set to be released on 24th October 2025, after completing his five months prison sentence.

Kambwili’s lawyer, Kennedy Mambwe, says his client began serving his sentence on 14th June 2025 and will be released this friday after remission.

Mambwe says his client’s health condition has been bad and his blood pressure has remained high throughout his time in custody, reading above 200 over 120.

The lawyer says they are relieved about the release as it will allow Kambwili to access proper medical facilities and specialist treatment, which he says prison authorities did not adequately provide despite several requests.

Meanwhile, commenting on her husband’s pending release from prison, Kambwili’s wife Carol said she would not describe her husband’s release from jail as a pardon because he has already served his five-month sentence.

She said Kambwili could be released before October 25, 2025 owing to the fact that the day falls on the weekend.

She was responding to news making arounds that Kambwili could be among those who would be ‘pardoned’ for release from prison on Independence Day, October 24, 2025.
