Kabanshi gets new charges

Former Minister of Community Development and Social services Emerine Kabanshi has been slapped with fresh charges which include failure to comply with guidelines relating to the social cash transfer program.

Kabanshi was initially facing two counts of abuse of authority of office contrary to the Laws of Zambia.

When the matter came up for plea before Chief resident Magistrate Lameck Mwale today, her lawyer Katindo Mwale applied for an adjournment for more time to study the new charges.

Kabanshi returns to court on June 26, for plea.
