JJ Banda discharged from hospital straight to police cell

Petauke Member of Parliament Emmanuel Jay Banda has been released from the Maina Soko Military hospital where he was receiving medical attention after a publicly reported abduction.

Banda however, has been arrested and detained at Ibex police station according to family members and his lawyers.

Details remain vague in this developing story.

JJ BANDA DISCHARGED FROM MAINA SOKO

…but immediately picked up by Police Officers and detained at Ibex Hill Police Station….

Petauke Central Independent Member of Parliament Hon. Emmanuel JayJay Banda who was abducted two weeks ago, has been discharged from Maina Soko Medical Centre.

However, he was immediately picked up by officers from Police Service Headquarters and is now detained at Ibex Hill Police Station.

However, this is not the first time Banda is being detained immediately after being discharged.

Last time, Banda collapsed while being questioned at the Police Station over his abduction.

And below is a police version of what transpired:

POLICE STATEMENT ON HONOURABLE JAY BANDA MP
June10, 2024-Today, at approximately 13:00 hours, Honourable Jay Banda was discharged from Maina Soko Medical Centre. Following his discharge, Honourable Banda was escorted by police officers to Twin Palm Police Station for an interview regarding ongoing investigations.
The interview was conducted in the presence of his legal counsel, Mr. Makebi Zulu. During the course of the interview, Honourable Banda developed a medical condition that necessitated immediate medical attention. In accordance with his rights as a suspect to seek medical care, police officers promptly transported him back to the hospital.
Honourable Banda was fully conscious upon his arrival at the hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention.
The police will continue to monitor Honourable Banda’s condition and ensure that all legal protocols are followed. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
