Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza has picked his final 19 man squad that will travel to Ethiopia tomorrow for an international friendly against that country’s national team on Sunday.
Apart from Lubambo Musonda, Jacob Banda, Fackson Kapumbu, Kabaso Chongo, Given Singulama, Evans Kangwa, Emmanuel Mayuka and Kapota Kayawe, the rest are lads that were at this year’s COSAFA tournament, which ended last week.
Janza is using this match to prepare for Zambia’s forthcoming fixtures in the CHAN and Africa cup qualifiers. It is a busy month that will see Chipolopolo engaging, Guinea Bissau on June 13 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola before travelling to Namibia for the CHAN first leg qualifier against the hosts on June 20/21.
On Sunday, June 6, Zambia will have a preparatory match with Ethiopia who they last met at the 2013 Afcon Finals in South Africa. in the the said encounter, Ethiopians came from behind, to cancel Collins Mbesuma goal which had put Zambia ahead, forcing the game to conclude in a one all draw.
In a related development, FAZ Spokesman Nkweto has confirmed that Zambia’s game with Guinea Bissau will take place in Ndola on June 13, at Levy Mwanawasa stadium. Tembwe has further announced that the charges for this match will range between K25 and K300.
