Itezhi Itezhi power project launched

President Edgar Lungu  says his administration has spread out development to all areas of the country and those attacking him are enjoying the fruits of the PF government.

Speaking after he commissioned the 120 megawatt Itezhi Itezhi power project in Itezhi-Tezhi President Lungu  says the PF has stopped politicking and will instead point to the many development projects it has completed.

The President further reiterated his call for the country to embrace economic diversification to sectors such as agriculture and tourism.

And Energy Minister Dora Siliya  said the commissioning of the power plant will increase power generation in the country and that ZESCO limited is exploring other alternative sources of energy in a bid to reduce the current power deficit.

At the same occasion ZESCO Limited Managing Director Victor Mundende thanked government and Tata for the financial support rendered to the firm.

The Itezhi-Tezhi Power project is a joint venture between ZESCO Limited and Tata Power of India – ZNBC.
