State House

The events of the last few days have left many questions in the minds of Zambians. One of which is – is State house haunted?

After burying the Late President Michael Sata in October last year, the late president Frederick Chiluba in June 2011 and late president Levy Mwanawasa in August 2008, Zambians were understandably concerned when President Lungu unceremoniously collapsed during the Woman’s day celebrations in Lusaka on Sunday, March 8th.A collective sigh of relief was breathed when pictures of president Lungu smiling in his hospital room at Maina Soko hospital were released.

Since Zambia has lost 3 presidents in a short space of time, probably breaking any world records. There is evidently something going on that needs to be addressed.

My guess is, in order to exorcise the ghost of State House, Zambia needs to invest in its health care systems. The Zambian money that has for the past 20 years helped enrich the South African Medical system could have improved the Zambian health care system 100 times over if it was rather invested here. Zambian public health systems also need to be revamped because Zambia as a nation does not seem to be very healthy. Until then the Ghost of State House will continue haunting us for years to come.
