I won’t handpick my successor – Lungu

President Edgar Lungu says he will not hand pick anyone to be his successor because the decision lies entirely in the hands of the Zambian people.

President Lungu says his successor will be chosen through the PF convention and the endorsement will be done by the Zambian people.

He says he will not hand pick any Minister or any person close to him as a successor but that their conduct around him as President will determine which person the Zambian people will have confidence in.

ZNBC’s Katwishi Bwalya reports that  President Lungu was speaking on Friday night at Swaziland’s Royal Villa when he met Zambians living in that country.

This was after he was asked whether he had started grooming someone to take over from him.
