I won’t be silenced by prison walls, vows Nakacinda

Jailed Patriotic Front faction secretary general Raphael Nakacinda says he will not be cowed into silence after being imprisoned.

Yesterday, the Lusaka High Court upheld his 18-month imprisonment over reports that he accused President Hakainde Hichilema of nicodemusly holding meetings with judges to destroy the PF.

Apparently, before handing himself in to the authorities, Nakacinda held a meeting with PF members where promised to fight on even behind prison walls.

“From 2021 to 2026, those who know their rights and freedom and are patriotic not only by rhetoric but at heart, they will commit just like we have collectively committed to fight for our democracy and wellbeing of every Zambian.”

“The journey towards achieving freedom and victory is punctuated by detours like this especially if institutions of government are threatened by those who are alien to follow the rule of law.

“I’m privileged today to go into prison for speaking for the Zambian people. We will continue to speak even in detention,” he said.

He urged those who would be outside to put their shoulders to the wheel for a just Zambia.

“The challenge remains with those of you who have a bit of freedom. It’s up to you be courageous snd continue to fight for mother Zambia ,” he said.
