Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) says he will not accept anyone other than himself, Miles Sampa or Chishimba Kambwili to led the PF, reports Asa Manda.
The PF has nine presidential candidates vying for the party’s presidency which fell vacant after former president Edgar Lungu resigned. The party is scheduled for an extraordinary General Assembly to elect a new leader.
Factions are emerging ahead of the General Assembly, with GBM who is also candidate openly telling Kambwili that he should not be used and side with the other faction he calls as MMD.GBM has told Kambwili who is also one of the candidates that he will not allow MMD to hijack the PF, the party he says he worked so hard for. GBM says he will only accept either Sampa or Kambwili to led PF whom he says are founder members of the PF.
He cautioned Kambwili that if they enjoy careful MMD will takeover PF. GBM said he will use his resources at an appropriate time to campaign for a true green either Miles or himself.
GBM told Kambwili never to mind about the mistakes of Sampa because he was a darling and founder member of PF. He said Sampa would not forget them if he is elected president.
He further cautioned Kambwili not to accept the position of PF Secretary General he was being promised by the Brian Mundubile faction.
“They will just use you. You are a presidential material. Don’t accept to be used. Never mind about Sampa. He cannot forget you neither can I forget you if I am president,” GBM told Kambwili.
Kambwili who addressed GBM as President agreed with him. He said he would too not accept to be led by former MMD leaders saying he had suffered for the PF to let it go.
He told GBM that he knew his position over the PF leadership and MMD. He said he would only allow a true Green to head the PF.
Chilufya Chitalu
Kambwili assured GBM that the former MMD leaders don’t takeover PF. He said there was no way he will allow Mundubile, Dr Chitalu Chilufya and other former MMD members to takeover PF.
GBM urged Kambwili whom he addressed as Mr Ground because of his grassroot skills mobilisation not to fear but to continue talking. He promised of legal support using his resources.
He said his money is for using to support people like him who are being intimidated.
The two were talking in a telephone conversation which has been leaked to the public and seen by Zambian Eye.
