I have no apology to make to ZNBC, charged Ruling Patriotic Front Chairperson for Elections Sylvia Masebo.

Masebo is alleged to have insulted ZNBC Director for News and Current Affairs Kenneth Maduma on Sunday.

But at a media briefing Tuesday morning Masebo stuck to her word saying she told Maduma to protect the presidency and the state and not side with the pro-Edgar Lungu’s camp.

“What we are saying is that ZNBC should not get involved in politics. As employees of government they should protect the president,” Masebo said. “They are misconducting themselves and I am surprised that even the board chairperson is abusing his position going on air to say all those things.”

She accused Maduma of having told lies that she insulted him. Masebo charged that she was standing to her words that ZNBC was trying to take a partisan stance on the issues going on in the ruling party

“I am surprised that Mr Maduma told them all those lies about what I said. They should have come to me to ask what I said,” said Masebo.

Masebo said she was surprised that the ZNBC Board Chairman Dr. John Mulwila went on air to castigate some government officials.

And Youth and Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili has called on ZNBC Board Chairman Dr. John Muliwila to resign. He said Dr. Muluwila must steep aside as he has failed to run the public broadcaster.
