A Lusaka High Court has ordered that opposition UPND goes ahead with its planned rally slated for this Sunday, 9th September 2012 in Kanyama.
Lusaka High Court Justice Justin Chanshi granted the order to the UPND lawyers led by Jack Mwiimbu late Friday afternoon. Party Deputy Spokesperson who is also Choma Central Member of Parliament Cornelius Mweetwa confirmed to Zambian Eye.
Mr. Mweetwa said the Police action to stop the rally was null and void saying people were free to attend the rally. He appealed to all Zambians to turn up in numbers for the public rally.

The Zambian Police had earlier cancelled the permit which they had given to UPND citing lack of enough police officers saying officers would be busy with the Zambia versus Uganda match taking place on Saturday.
The UPND had threatened to go ahead with the rally but Police warned of severe consequences to those who will turn up for the rally.
