The case in which UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and five others are charged with treason has been adjourned to Monday, May 15, 2017.

Magistrate Simusamba adjourned the case when the accused appeared before him this morning.

He said on Monday he will announce how and when the treason ruling will be announced.

This follows a summon slapped on Intelligence officers Arthur Shonga and Mpanzi Mbita for contempt of court.

The duo defied a court order to release the properties they seized from Hichilema and his five co-accused.

On Monday Magistrate Greenwell Malumani will also deliver a judgment on whether Hichilema used insulting language on police officers who went to arrest him.

The UPND leader has remained in prison.
