Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema has urged his supporters to brave the rains and vote.

And ruling party – PF candidate Edgar Lungu says he is optimistic that he will win today’s election. Speaking to reporters after casting his vote in his constituency, Lungu said looking the support he had victory was certain.

Hichilema who cast his vote from Kabulonga Boys has also urged his supporters to remain vigilant throughout the election process to ensure the results of the elections are not rigged. He has however called on his supporters to uphold peace and stability at all times.

The opposition leader has declared that he has won the elections but experessed fears that the ruling party – Patriotic Front could steal the votes.

Some Zambians accross the country in the morning braved the rains to go cast their votes in a tightly contested Presidential election that has been called to replace President Michael Sata who died on October 28, 2014.

  2. It is inconceivable that Lungu can ever win a clean, free, fair and transparent election. On that basis there is only one obvious winner and that’s HE HH. Of course confidence can be based on his planed scheme of rigging, no doubt about that!

  4. The Malawian prophet said EL will try to steal HH’s votes but HH will still win. If EL succeeds to steal the election, the prophet said he will after all only rule for 8 months.
