HH makes appointments, takes Chipenzi to ECZ

President Hakainde Hichilema (HH) today made appointments which has seen outspoken Electoral Expert Macdonald Chipenzi be appointed to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Board as Commissioner.

Chipenzi who is accused to be UPND though he heads an NGO called Gears was rumored to be headed for the CEO of the ECZ recently. Critics opposed saying he was aligned to the UPND. After his unsuccessful bid to contest Siavonga seat under UPND ticket in 2016, Chipenzi has been speaking as Gears Boss.

Others appointed at ECZ includes seasoned lawyer Mwangala Zalomisi and Commissioner Ali Simwiimga as Chairperson and Vice Chairperson respectively.

At cabinet office, long acting Secretary to Cabinet Patrick Kangwa has finally been appointed for the position with Dr Oliver Kalabo as his Deputy.

The appointments that includes the appointment of the new Anti Corruption Commission Director General Trevor Shamakamba are subject to Parliament ratification.
