HH files nominations, declares victory

HH arriving at the Supreme Court to file nominations

Opposition United Party for National Developemnt (UPND) presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema on Friday, December 19, 2014 successfully filed in his nomination papers for the January 20, 2015 Presidential elections declaring he is Zambia’s next President.

Thousands of his supporters excorted Hichilema commonly referred as HH when he filed his papers around 4pm at Supreme Court before Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda.

Accompanied by his wife, Mutinta, two of his Vice presidents, ADD president Charles Milupi and Members of Parliament from both UPND and MMD, HH told a cheering crowd that one steep had been done urging supporters to go flat out and campaign.

HH told his supporters that from his first tour of the country, he was impressed with the receiption but said the campaign should go on until voting day. He urged Zambians to secrutinise those aspiring to be President to see their suitability for the job.

He said it was interesting that the PF presidential candidate Edgar Lungu who had no vision for the country is now copying his promises to Zambians.

HH said Zambians should vote for him because he was the originator of many campaign promises other candidates are now promising the voters. He assured that he will not let the Zambians down once elected.

Two MMD Members of Parliament, Kabinga Pande who is also the party Chairman, Victoria Kalima and Levy Ngoma edorsed HH’s candidature.
