HH attends Koumboka ceremony with memories of treason

Hakainde Hichilema is among thousands of the people attending the 2018 Koumboka traditional ceremony of the Lozi people in Western province.

The ceremony is taking place today, April 28, 2018 in Mongu where the Lozi King, the Litunga and his subjects are shifting ceremonial style in voyage of boats from Lealui which is the palace in the plains to Limulunga, the place on the upland.

HH is being detained by Police on treason charges

The ceremony is taking place with memories of the 2017 Koumboka ceremony that saw Hichilema leader of the opposition UPND arrested in a brutal manner in a night raid and slapped with a fake treason charge after he was alleged to have blocked the presidential motorcade of Edgar Lungu on Limulunga-Mongu road, Fast and Furious scene during the ceremony.

Hichilema arrived for the ceremony Saturday morning while President Lungu this time has stayed away but instead sent a Minister to represent him.
