Opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilem on Wednesday hosted FDD deputy national secretary Antonio Mwanza at his New Kasama residence in Lusaka.

Posting on his Facebook page, Hichilema said he had met Mwanza with whom he discussed a number of issues affecting the youths in the country.

He said as former University of Zambia students, they both hold youths dear and that among the issues touched on was the need to empower youths with education, skills and employment.

“This morning we met with our brother, Mr. Antonio Mwanza of the FDD party at our residence in Lusaka,” Hichilema wrote.

“As former University of Zambia (UNZA) students, we discussed a wide range of issues affecting our youths both in schools and those seeking employment.

“We hold the Youths so dear to us and during our discussion, we indicated that youths must not be empowered with weapons to perpetuate violence instead they must be empowered with education, skills, and employment.

“We will keep engaging the Youths so that they can choose their destinations rightfully, and in addition we will help shape their future.”

And Mwanza also took to Facebook to announce his one-on-one with the country’s main opposition leader.

“I took time to meet with my elder brother to exchange notes on the current happenings and the future of our country. Great stuff!!!” Mwanza, who is also FDD spokesperson, posted.

  1. Yes, this is it, I encourage PF to emulate this by meeting opposition leaders. In the end peace and harmony will replace hatred which we have been experiencing of late.

  4. I agree. Opposition unity keeps government on its toes. This is as it should be. It is fake opposition that backstab opposition ranks. Sad.
