Lusaka Mayor Miles Sampa today sent social media buzzing when he posted on his Facebook page photos of himself posing with a pistol in an apparent threat to PF cadres who he says have been illegally allocating land in the city.

The posting, with the photos captioned “To the illegal plots sellers who abushed me yesterday, I know you and know those that sent you. This is how I will be reporting for field and office work. In case the Police delay in protecting me, I am equal to the task. See you when you come again.

Lusaka Mayor” was quickly deleted from his Facebook page.

On Monday, Sampa was almost lynched by a group of angry PF youths when he went to inspect some illegally sold plots across the city.

The cadres demanded that Sampa stops interfering in their operations saying they did not vote for him as Mayor in order for him to come and cause confusion.

Sampa posted a video of the incident on his Facebook page but later deleted it. Watch:

His latest stunt, however, has many an observer wondering whether the former Deputy Minister and Matero MP is trying a little to hard to impress in his new role, given the criticism his predecessor Wilson Kalumba endured.
