The United Party for National Development (UPND) government has agreed to give a salary increment by 10.5% to all civil servants effective January, 2023.
According to a memo being circulated by the Zambia Union of Nurses Organisation (ZUNO) states that government has agreed to increase salaries for all civil servants by 10.5%
Secretary General Michelo says negotiations that started on the 31st October, 2022 have been concluded today on the 10th November, 2022.
He said all nurses and other civil servants will have a new pay starting January 2023.
“This is to inform all ZUNO leadership and members that on 31st October 2022, the 18 civil service unions commenced negotiations for improved salaries and conditions of service”.
“Today the 10th November 2022 GRZ and all 18 civil service unions (ZUNO inclusive) have concluded negotiations and agreed on a 10.5% increment to the basic pay effective January 2023”.
“We would like to state that it wasn’t easy to be reach and agree but finally we had to concluded at that. We thank you for the patience and support during this process”, stated Michelo- ZUNO Secretary General.
ZUNO is a trade union and professional organisation for nurses and midwives in Zambia working in both the private and public sectors.
