Government targets 50% economic growth for Chipata

ChipataEastern Province Permanent Secretary Dr Chileshe Mulenga says that the Government is targeting to increase the economic growth of Chipata District at 50 percent by the year 2015.

Speaking during the stakeholders meeting organised by the Zambia Tourism Board Z.T.B in Chipata yesterday, Dr Mulenga says that the introduction of link Zambia 8000 and pave Zambia 2000 projects by the PF Government is a great achievement for the economic growth at District and the Provincial level.

The Permanent Secretary says that the operationalisation of Chipata Mchinji Railway line project will boost the economic and tourism sector in the Province.

He disclosed that once the railway line becomes fully operational will introduce the passenger train so that tourists from neighbouring countries such as Malawi and Mozambique can enter in to the Country using the train.
