GOOD NEWS: Zambia register zero COVID-19 case in last 24hrs, 1,700 new health workers ready for deployment

Zambia has in the last 24 hours not recorded any new COVlD-19 case out of 286 tests conducted, Health minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya has said.

The minister disclosed that the 286 tests are not part of the statistics in Nakonde which has been locked down for intensified testing and contact tracing.

Chilufya has revealed that 2,224 applications for health workers have been processed out of which 1,700 are ready for deployment and assured that the process is being done transparently.

“While we have no discharges today, all patients in the COVID-19 isolation facilities are in stable condition.

Therefore, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Zambia remains at 267 with 7 associated deaths and 117 recoveries,” said the minister.

Speaking at the latest update,Dr Chilufya said the screening and testing exercise has begun in Nakonde and results will be communicated once the validation process is complete.

  1. Why is it taking so long to deploy those gallant soldiers in the field so that more lives could be saved from this pandemic.
    Of course we know that it is long way , away from ending this warfare but better we don’t make more delays as delays are costing lives in some countries, this we don’t want to happen in Zambia: are we ready with some obvious needs like ventilators .
