Local Hip Hop artist and performer Masautso  Nkhoma better known by his stage name Ruff Kid has wondered why he has continued to be overlooked by event organisers and award shows.

The ‘Wekatemwikwa’ hit maker however says the fact that he has not been considered for important entertainment events in the country
such as Zamfest, Nyamafest, Rocktober Fest, Oktoberfest, Stanbic Music Festival and Mosi Day of Thunder among others does not bother him as he believes he was chosen by God to put Zambian music on the world map.

The 34-year-old rapper, who burst on the local music scene as a teenager in the early 2000s, said this in a social media posting as thousands of his fans reacted and advised him to work hard and improve on his lyrics and melody.

“In spite of the hatred and being chingad to perform at the big events like…. Mosi day of thunder, October fest, Roctober fest, ZamfestNyama fest, Stanbic music fest, Fnb whiskey fest, Bush fest, Lusaka July, Champagne picnic ,Castle unlocked, Jameson connect, Valentines shows, Chivas shows, Badwiser shows and Including all the international shows and the the music awards. I know I’m the chosen of God to put Zambian Music on the world map,” Ruff Kaida, formerly known as Ruff Kid, wrote on Monday.

Ruff Kaida, a 2012 Best International Act award winner at the BEFFTA Award has long complained of being underappreciated on the local music scene, with the artiste laying bare his frustrations in his 2014 mega hit ‘Nikamisiya’ which featured the late P-Jay.
